Corporate Responsibility

At Bluebonnet Fiber, our foundations are built on the commitment to ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible business practices.

Our Corporate Responsibility initiatives reflect our dedication to making a positive impact on our community, environment, and employees.

Social Impact

Since its founding, Bluebonnet Fiber has held a vision to eliminate the digital divide by delivering access to top-tier fiber optic internet. To bridge this digital divide, our mission is to provide high-quality, reliable, and affordable internet services to rural communities of any socioeconomic status, bridging the digital divide, fostering growth and local business development.

Environmental Sustainability

Preserving our planet is non-negotiable.  We are taking concrete steps to reduce our environmental footprint, ensuring that the infrastructure we build today is around for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.  Bluebonnet Fiber faces diverse challenges in achieving an environmentally sustainable footprint in an industry that is traditionally dirty, overcoming these challenges is a major part of our unique business practices.

The company has established the following practices for itself to further this goal:

  • We will implement energy efficient equipment and infrastructure, evaluating efficency in all aspects of our procurement.
  • Recycling programs and responsible disposal practices are in place to handle all waste produced during operations.  Examples include the disposal, recycling or reuse of drilling fluids, fiber spools and oil.
  • Implement renewable energy sources, alternative fuels, and work to mitigate our carbon emissions whenever feasible.
  • All business processes include considerations for eco-friendly behaviors.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our commitment to diversity in the workplace extends beyond simple compliance with the law. The business will absolutely never include age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or cultural background in its business decisions.

Examples of this commitment in action is our simplified hiring practices, where the business makes an active effort to ensure these factors are not documented or exposed to decision makers during the hiring process whenever possible.

Outside of hiring, we actively foster an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives thrive. By continuing to promote equitable, merit based decision-making processes backed by objective information, we ensure that every employee feels valued and respected.

Career Growth and Training

Our commitment to employee development is unwavering. We offer new-to-role training, continuous learning / cross-training initiatives and other professional development opportunities.

Work-Life Balance

A healthy work-life balance is crucial to the success of our team. We are committed to promoting a health and safety-first work environment that respects personal time, mental well-being, and family life. These tenants are reflected in our actions:

  • We work to give our team a 3-day weekend. Most roles have 10-hour shifts, 40-hours per week.
  • We embrace a flexible hybrid work policy for roles that support it – we only require people in the office when and if it’s necessary to complete their duties.
  • All roles accrue paid time off at full pay, including vacation, holidays, personal choice days, and sick time off.
  • All roles have a comprehensive suite of medical and disability benefits, including benefits that protect your income in the event of a disability.
  • All roles have access to emergency assistance benefits, to include no-cost payroll advances and mental health referrals.
